Blogger Paul Denlinger, CEO of China Business Strategy, put up a good post last week at his blog on whether a Western-Managed business can succeed in China.

Paul looks at trends in the management of western-owned businesses in China.
While there are many western multinationals in China, most of them have heavily localized their staff and management. The general trend in these companies is to localize staff and management as quickly as possible without sacrificing necessary management skills in the process. So, for the most part, while they are western companies, they are largely Chinese-managed.
The piece looks at the role of venture capital and the trend to start up companies putting their roots down first n China before leaving for the US market. Paul examines some technical reasons for that.
