AP reports:
Fearful problems might spill over to next year's Olympics, Beijing officials are cracking down on sports fans who chant obscenities at opposing players and referees.
Police official Li Zhongyi said an unidentified 20-year-old soccer fan had been banned for 12 months from attending matches in Beijing. The man was also being held by police for using the Internet to organize rowdy fans at matches.
Five other fans were also fined or given warnings, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday.
